Johannes Wohlmuth

Johannes founded Wohlmuth IP in 2018. He is a European, German, Italian and Swiss patent attorney and can represent you directly before the European Patent Office and the IP offices in Germany, Italy and Switzerland in your patent, trademark or design issues. 

Johannes speaks fluently English, German, Italian and French and has some knowledge in Spanish. 

Johannes was born 1980 in Germany. He graduated in 2007 in Physics at the Albert-Ludwigs-University in Freiburg, Germany. He specialized in complex systems, statistics, time series analysis and informatics.

Following University, in 2008 Johannes joined a larger patent law firm in Munich as a Trainee Patent Attorney, where he gained significant experience in German and European patent procedures. During his activity as a Trainee Patent Attorney, he studied for two years German Law for Patent Attorneys at the Distance University of Hagen, Germany.

In 2011, Johannes became a Trainee at the German Patent and Trademark Office in Munich and a Law Clerk at the Federal German Patent Court in Munich. Performing his duties as a Law Clerk on behalf of highly acclaimed German judges has given him practical insights into all kinds of patent- and trademark appeals and into patent nullity procedures. The same year, Johannes also qualified as a European and German Patent Attorney.

In 2012, Johannes joined one of the leading patent law firms in Switzerland. In parallel to his work, he attended further training lectures focusing on Swiss IP law which lead to his registration as Swiss patent attorney in 2014. 

Johannes participated in the Diploma Course on European patent litigation at the CEIPI at the University of Strasbourg during 2013 and 2014. 

In 2016, he passed the Italian patent bar exam and registered as an Italian patent attorney. 

He is an active member of different professional associations like the EPI, FICPI, Deutsche Patentanwaltskammer and the Ordine dei Consulenti in Proprietà Industriale. As a member of the Examination Committee, he marks the exam (EQE) for professional representatives before the EPO. Furthermore, he is a member of the Technology Transfer Committee of the University of Chieti in Italy.

During his spare time Johannes enjoys spending tim with his family, playing beach volley, traveling and tasting good food.
